Hi! I have no idea what I%26#039;m doing (creating the website was my job) I now need to know how to get a domain name registered with GoDaddy to find files on the server we own. Someone mentioned DNS and Cnames but I trust you guys more

You need to go to a domain name registrar. Try eurodns, they are very cheap and give you easy control on your dns settings. Remember you may then need to set up mail services as well.
